Bumthang Cultural Trek


Bumthang valley is the religious heartland of the nation and home to some of its oldest Buddhist temples and monasteries.

The Bumthang Cultural Trek allows for many opportunities to visit temples and small Bhutanese villages along the trek route. Although the trek is on the easier side, it involves a few major climbs like the one up to Phepe La (3,360 m) with an ascent of about 500m.

Dagala Thousand Lakes Trek



The Dagala Thousand Lakes Trek is not a difficult trek but one can expect some steep climbs. The trek starts from Thimphu. During this trek, you pass through forests covered with blue pine trees, evergreen oak trees, and rhododendron shrubs as well as many small lakes. Needless to say, you will be rewarded with some amazing views. The trek is off the beaten path, so one can expect to not encounter any other trekkers along the way.

Druk Path Trek



The Druk Path trek is one of the most popular and scenic treks in Bhutan through the beautiful wilderness and remote lakes along the way. Besides the lakes, the Phajoding monastery is one of the highlights of the trek. The walking distances between the camps are not too long but the trek goes to a relatively high altitude making the trek moderately strenuous.

Duer Hot Spring Trek



Due to its high difficulty rating, this trek is not very commonly pursued. This trek takes you to Gangkar Puensum, the world’s highest unclimbed peak and offers a full day at the Tsachhu (Hot Springs). As the route is covered in snow in the winter, it is only open during March, April, September, October, and early November.

Gangtey Trek



The Gangtey Trek is relatively short and easy trek. The trek starts from Gangtey and ends after three days in Chuzomsa. Riding ponies can be provided if required. This trek will lead you through isolated villages, lush valleys, wildlife preserves, forests covered with rhododendron shrubs, juniper trees, magnolia, and bamboo. You will also have amazing views of the Himalayas.

Jomolhari Trek



The Jomolhari trek offers a wide range of landscape and flora and fauna with altitudes ranging from 2,500 m to 5,000 m. The magnificent view of Mount Jomolhari from Jangothang (Jomolhari basecamp) is the highlight of the trek. Mount Jomolhari is considered to be the most beautiful mountain in the Himalayan range. The whole trek goes through a small part of the Jigme Dorji National Park. One should be reasonably physically fit to enjoy the majestic mountain views, endure thin air, serenity & the wilderness of the landscape while on the trek.

Lunana Snowman Trek



The Lunana Snowman Trek is said to be one of the most difficult treks in the world! The combination of the altitude, distance, weather, and remoteness is what makes it so difficult. We suggest that our clients make sure to get emergency evacuation insurance since the only way out of Lunana if the passes are blocked by snow is by a helicopter. Less than 50% of the people who attempt this trek complete the trek due to harsh weather conditions or problems with altitude.

Merak - Sakten Trek



The Merak – Sakten trek is the newest trek to be commissioned by the Bhutanese government. The government allows only one team (maximum of 12 people) at a time to walk the trek and the tours start every third day through two open seasons in order to maintain its exclusivity. There is also talk about a possible special fee to be charged for the trek. The trek takes you through the Sakten Wildlife Sanctuary which is home to endangered species like the snow leopard and red panda, and other animals like the Himalayan red fox and the Himalayan black bear, and to the isolated Brokpa tribe. This trek offers a window into the most secluded regions in Bhutan!
